Cultural Detox -English follows ניקוי רעל Cultural Detox -English follows

‏In a world where diversity is everywhere, we will often find that we have unintentionally adopted wrong, at times negative ways of thinking about others and their culture. Unconscious of how this may impact our daily interactions in social and business settings, impacting who we are and how we behave. This may also impact our well-being as researches show mental, physical and behavioral health comes from ones way of life

‏The cultural detox is designed to extract unconscious toxic thinking and behavioral habits concerning others. By understanding the importance of culture and manners, by cultivating cultural sensitivity, and awareness to cultural difference. By removing biases and encouraging inclusion at the workplace and in society in order to create an empowered environment. Taking steps towards solidarity and inclusion will promote a positive and inclusive environment everywhere.

It's the holiday season – about hosting, etiquet It's the holiday season – about hosting, etiquette, staying calm and starting Rosh Hashana - the Jewish New Year in the right manner.

The holidays can drive all of us nuts. Where will we be celebrating this year? What should I buy as a gift? What should I wear? How to set the table? And so many other questions to worry about…
But there are also a few tips we can use to make it through the holidays:
1.	Remember to stop and breath enjoy the moment.
2.	Smile - bring a smile into your day and your life, and uplift your spirit.
3.	Prepare beforehand - set the table the night before the holiday gathering.
4.	Mind your manners - good manners should be a top priority at any holiday gathering.
5.	Create nice memories and experience the opening of your senses: taste of food, smell of flowers, look at all the beautiful things around you, hear the laughter of family and friends, enjoy life!

Tomorrow we will be celebrating the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah is celebrated on the first day of the Hebrew month - Tishrei, which this year corresponds to September, on the secular calendar. The most common greeting for the New Year is "Shanah Tovah U'metukah" (in Hebrew) meaning "a good and sweet year".
Wishing you all Shanah Tovah U'metukah❤️✨

Talking about #manners #culture #culturalsensitivi Talking about #manners #culture #culturalsensitivity #inclusion
Probably no common practice is more diversified th Probably no common practice is more diversified than eating in company, for what one culture considers as correct and decent may by other cultures looked upon as wrong or impolite. Food can represent symbolic order, serve as social markers and determine rules of commensality.
Many etiquette manuals and books were written from the 16th through the 19th century. These books were educational and showed how to handle matters of etiquette, socially acceptable behavior, table manners and personal morals. Some of these books were considered as a cultural codex, as they guided a particular group of people to a particular code of conduct. The most influential Jewish Codex presenting the code of Jewish law was the "Shulchan Aruch" (literally “set table”), written by Joseph Caro in the 16th century. The book is divided into four sections. In my thesis, I examined one of the four sections of the book: "Orach Hayim" (meaning Lifestyle) presenting laws relating to eating and other rituals of everyday life. It is amazing to see the resemblance in the rules and guidelines which appear in the Jewish codex versus western etiquette books such as the "Galateo" by Giovanni della Casa, "On Civility in Children" by Erasmus and others.
An example of the codes of conduct from Shulchan Aruch, which exemplify respect, order, restraint:
"If two are eating from one dish and one stops eating in order to drink something or do some minor thing, it is proper etiquette that the other person wait for him; but if there are three eating, the two do not have to stop eating to wait for the one (Kitzur Shulchan Aruch - Chapter 42,7. Laws pertaining to the meal by Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried)
Do not stare at someone who is eating or drinking, nor at the portion in front of him, so as not to embarrass him. (Kitzur Shulchan Aruch - Chapter 42, 13. Laws pertaining to the meal by Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried

Can you share examples from your cultural codex? I will be happy to learn.
